Jada Koren (Pinkett) Smith was born on 18th September, 1971 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA. Best known for her acting career, as well as her superstar marriage to actor, Will Smith, Jada is also a producer, director, author, singer-songwriter and, an astute businesswoman.

Career Highlights

Jada had her first acting break on the small screen in a TV series, “True Colors”. Films followed, and her body of work covers the gamut of film genres.

In addition to being successful as an actress and in her other interests, she and husband Will founded the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation, a charity organization that focuses on helping urban inner-city youth and offering family support.

Jada’s biggest single strength as an actress is her diversity. She is at home playing a frightened woman being pursued by an axe murderer (Scream 2) as she is playing the love interest of a really “Nutty Professor”, and is probably most popular with fans for her roles in the “Matrix series”.

She has played almost every type of role, but she has never done a strong, serious romantic lead (unless you count all that press coverage she and Will garner just by leaving their house).

From what’s been seen, she’s got it all going for her. I, for one, would just like to see her play a vulnerable woman in love. (Okay – you action film lovers can boo me now) While Jada has been nominated for Blockbuster, Image and BET awards, her only win; to-date came when she took home the 2010 Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her role in “Hawthorne”.
