Rosalie Anderson MacDowell popularly known as Andie MacDowell is an American Actress and a professional model. She was born in South Carolina, United States of America on 21st April, 1958 and started her career in 1981 as a model.

Famous Hollywood actress Andie MacDowell started her career as a model in 1981 for Vogue magazine and appeared in different advertisements. A series of ads and TV commercials earned her enough popularity to land a role in “Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan”, “Lord of the Apes” followed by another role in the movie titled “St. Elmo’s Fire”.

Due to her southern accent, Andie’s dialogues were dubbed by Glenn Close in her first movie and in spite of this, her performance was well received. In 1989, she landed a major role in the movie titled “Sex, Lies, and Videotape” which earned her several awards in different categories.

Following successful roles as a leading female actress, Andie MacDowell earned significant roles in Hollywood movies like “Green Card”, “Short Cuts” and “Four Weddings and a Funeral” which helped her establish herself as a versatile actress.

In 1994, she appeared in another box office super hit movie titled Grounding. Back to back commercially successful movies, helped her career a great deal and earned her a number of roles in various movies.

Andie MacDowell earned Independent Spirit Award as well as Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress for her phenomenal performance in 1989’s movies titled “Sex, Lies, and Videotape”.

She earned Golden Globe nomination for her role in Green Card whereas, in 1993 she won Golden Globe Award in the category for best Ensemble Cast for her role in “Short Cuts”.
