Helen Elizabeth Hunt is a multi-talented American actress, film director, and screenwriter. She was born on 15th June, 1963.

Career Highlights

Hunt stepped into the world of glitz and glamour in 1973 in her first TV movie “Pioneer Woman” playing the role named Sarah Sargeant. After a successful start she went on to play some more roles in various TV series namely “Amy Prentiss” (1974), “The Swiss FamilyRobinson” (1975), “The Fitzpatricks” (1977), “The Bionic Woman” (1978) and “St. Elsewhere” that was aired on TV from 1974 to 1986.

Her Role of Jamie Stemple Buchman in a sitcom named “Mad About You” earned her appreciation and attention and as a result she finally landed a role in “As Good as It Gets” which was a romantic comedy movie.

She played her role to perfection and won many awards like Academy Award in the category of best actress, Golden Globe Award for Best Actress, American Comedy Award in the category of funniest actress, Blockbuster Entertainment Award in the category of favorite actress, Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role and last but not the least MTV Award nomination in the category of best female performance.

The year 1998 brought a rare distinction for Helen Hunt as she became the recipient (second only to Liza Minnelli) of three prestigious awards in Hollywood Golden Globe Award, Academy Award as well as an Emmy Award all in the same year.

Another feather in her cap is that she earned the Emmy Award nomination for Lead actress in a comedy for consecutive 7 years in a row from 1993 to1999. Throughout her cherished career she played many roles to perfection in various movies.
