Marisa Tomei is Oscar winning, American stage, film and TV actress. She was born on 4th December, 1964 in Brooklyn, New York and started her professional acting career in 1986. She is known for her roles in “My Cousin Vinny”, “What Women Want” and “Anger Management”.

Marisa Tomei started her acting career in 1986 when she appeared in a sitcom titled “A Different World”. She made her debut movie appearance in a comedy film tilted “The Flamingo Kid”.

The major breakthrough for her career came in “My Cousin Vinny”, in which she played a comedic role and earned her first ever Academy Award. In 1980s, she appeared in various movies including “The Toxic Avenger” and “Playing for Keeps”.

She also got numerous roles in 1990s, appearing in “Equinox”, “Untamed Heart”, “Only You”, “Four Rooms” and “Unhook the stars”. All these movies, although not very successful, helped her grow as an actress.

Marisa Tomei won Academy Award in the category for best supporting actress, Chicago Film Critics Association Award and MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance for “My Cousin Vinny”.

In 1992, she appeared in “Chaplin” and won Chicago Film Critics Association Award for Most Promising Actress. She was nominated for Screen Actors Guild Award for her performance in “Unhook the Stars”.

In 2001, she was nominated for Academy Award as well as Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award for the movie titled “In the Bedroom”. In 2008, she appeared in the role of Cassidy/Pam in the blockbuster movie “The Wrestler”, earning her another Academy Award and Golden Globe nomination along with many awards.
