The land of Baloch, Balochistan is one of the provinces of Pakistan. The province was named ‘Balochistan’ due to the local Baloch tribes who are the majority of the people. Like other provinces of the country, Balochistan has a parliamentary form of government.

In the period of 1947-48, Balochistan was agreed to join Pakistan under the condition that province would stay otherwise self-governing; however the central supervision would control security, currency, foreign affairs, and economics of the region.

Later the situation was changed and Balochistan was merged into Pakistan. From the time of independence, some Baloch nationalists and regional administration have been in clash with the central administration.
