The year 1994 marked his transfer to Bayern Munich at a fee amounting to 4,600,600 DM and he continued playing for the team until his career ended in the year 2008. In the match team, Germany was favored to win however, the team lost the match. Despite the defeat, Germany managed to win the World Cup and Kahn was named to be the best goalkeeper by IFFHS for the 2nd time in his professional football career.
