Nathalie Tauziat was born on the 17th of October in the year 1967. The birthplace of the tennis player is Bangui in the Central African Republic. She started her professional tennis career in France in the year 1984.

Tauziat also wrote a book under the title of “Les Dessous du tennis féminin” which was published in the year 2001. The book focuses on the different aspects of the life of a woman professional tennis player.

The career top singles achieved by Tauziat was third in the year 2000 and she was also the second finalist in the women’s singles tournaments at the Wimbledon Championships in 1998. She lost the championship against Jana Novotna.

Nathalie’s appearance in the finals was the very first from any Frenchwoman since 1925 in which Suzanne Lenglen participated in the championship match. She was a runner-up in the US Open tournament held in 2001 with her partner Kimberly Po.

She also managed to become a runner-up player in the women’s doubles of the Chase Championship held in 1997 and 1998 with her partner Alexandra Fusai. Moreover, she also participated in the French Fed Cup team in 1997 which made history and won their first title ever.

At the age of 32, Nathalie Tauziat achieved her career-high singles and was ranked to be No.3 among world players. She was also the oldest woman to be ranked among the top three players. In her entire career, Tauziat achieved 25 doubles and 8 singles titles.

She was also awarded a state of honor “le chevalier de la Legion d’honneur” for her great contributions to the game of tennis.
