Famous TV actress of Pakistan Saba Pervaiz was born as Saba Hameed in Lahore on 21st June, 1957. She is the daughter of a noted columnist and writer Hameed Akhtar.

Saba did her graduation from famous Government College Lahore; she later joined the University of Punjab Lahore but could not continue her studies due to some personal reasons. Saba has three sisters and one brother; her sister Huma also acted in TV plays but bid farewell to TV after marriage.

Saba made her debut from Lahore television in 1980 from the Urdu play “Bund Darwazy”. She has done so many plays, drama serials and tele-plays that in her own words “I have lost count of the plays I have done”. Naseeb, Sanata, Aur Dramay, Neeli, Vanee, Dunya Dari, Gharoor, Girah are some of her memorable dramas.

Sabawas a regular feature in the drama serial Aur Dramay by Ashfaq Ahmed, people perhaps remember her role in the play “ Cinderalla aur Sakeena”. Saba loves doing comic roles and her hilarious acting in the sitcom Family Front established her as a versatile actress. Her portrayal of a hysterical woman in Mama Seemi is one of her favorite performances.

Saba is popular in the young generation as well as the older ones. She has grace, class and style and adjusts in all sorts of roles effortlessly. In her long career she has played many roles and her performance has matured with every role. Recently she has made comedy her forte.

Her role in popular Pakistani TV drama Azar ki Ayegi Barat and its sequels has made her the favorite of the younger generation. Her movies include Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Good Morning Karachi, Mein Aik Din Laut Aun Gi etc.

Saba Hameed got married to Syed Pervaiz Shafi and the couple had two children Meesha Shafi and Faris Shafi. Sadly the marriage did not last long. Saba later married her co-actor in popular TV drama Family Front Waseem Abbas. For her valuable contributions to the world of Show business, Saba was awarded the Pride of Performance Award in 2012.
