The revival of Pakistani Cinema has brought lots of happiness among cinemagoers. However, many Pakistanis and Indians are criticizing their movies by considering them copied by Bollywood. But there are numerous Pakistani films that had been copied by Bollywood.

Few of the copied Pakistani film copied by Bollywood are mentioned below:

  • A popular film ‘Khlanayak’ starrer Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit was a copied version of Pakistani Film ‘Ghar Pyara Ghar’ released on 1968.
  • The blockbuster hit of 1994 ‘Hum Apke Hain Kaun’ was fully imitated by the film Dehleez. It was released in the year 1983.
  • Madhuri Dixit and Salman Khan’s popular film ‘Saajan’ got overwhelming response by the cinemagoers. Many of the people don’t know that it has been copied from Bandish (Pakistani film) released on 1980.
  • Another infamous film produced in Bollywood on the copied script of Pakistani film Sanam Bewafa (1991). It was fully imitated from the Pakistani film Badaltey Rishtey. Many of the people can’t recognize it easily. However, it can be proved once both films would be watched at once.
  • The Film Saagar released on 1985 was also a copied version of ‘Haq Mehar’. It was a blockbuster film of Bollywood but nobody knew that it was recreation of a Pakistani film.
  • Bollywood didn’t stop copying Pakistani films even in the recent years. Many people are unaware about 2004’s blockbuster film Veer Zara. The story of film has been stolen from ‘Tere Pyar Mein’ (Pakistani film) released on the year 2000. The lead characters Shaan and Zara Sheikh performed outstandingly. However, the worldwide popularity of Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta made it a blockbuster hit.

All of these films recreated by Indian Film Industry in different ways would definitely raise many eyebrows. Now the title of ‘Copycats’ given by Bollywood to Lollywood would also be shared with Indian film industry.

The talented storywriters and actors of our movies forced Bollywood filmmakers to get inspiration from them. It is definitely a great honor for Pakistan despite having handful of movies as compared to Bollywood.
