Samir Nasri is a 24-year-old French-born footballer (born 26 June 1987) of Algerian descent who currently plays his football for The English and North London football club Arsenal and has also represented France at the International Level.

Samir Nasri preferred playing position is as an attacking midfielder but has performed exceptionally well as a winger as well he stands at 1.77 meters and wears the number 8 shirt for the club.

Nasri started playing football for the French football club Marseille. After staying in their youth system from 1997 to 2004 he finally broke into their senior team in 2004 and stayed there till 2008. He performed exceptionally well for Marseille but was occasionally hampered by a recurring foot injury.

He was voted as UNFP Ligue 1 Young Player of The Year in 2006-07 and also in UNFP Ligue 1 Team of The Year in 2006-07. After signing for Arsenal football club in 2008 he had a couple of mixed seasons and took his time to settle finally performing exceptionally well in the 2010-2011 season due to which he was named in the PFA Team of The Year in 2010-2011.

Samir is a technically gifted player with exceptional dribbling skills and great shooting power which enables him to get past defenders with ease. He has often been criticized for being inconsistent but he has improved that aspect of his game considerably with more playing time. He is a regular starter for The French National team now after missing out on the FIFA World Cup French Squad in 2010.
