The top tier club competition of this continental region is the CONCACAF Champions League, which was previously titled the CONCACAF Champions’ Cup.

The top football club teams from the area compete in the competition as such the winners, or clubs which frequently do well in the tournament can be considered the top ones from this region.

The competition has been dominated by several Mexican football clubs over the years. Cruz Azul FC and América football club have been the most successful clubs winning the competition five times each, with Cruz Azul also being the losing finalist on two other occasions.

Other Mexican football clubs that have managed to win the tournament several times are Pachuca (4), UNAM (3), and Toluca (2). Saprissa, a Costa Rican club is equal with Cruz Azul in the number of finals reached, they have however only managed to win three out of the seven finals they have competed in.

Another Costa Rican football club Ajaluense has won the competition twice, other two time winners include Transvaal from Suriname, Olimpia from Honduras, and the Defence Force team from Trinidad and Tobago.

Another Mexican club, Monterrey is the most recent winner of the 2011 competition, with the tournament being won by a Mexican team for the past six years in a row. These are some of the best football clubs of CONCACAF which have managed to win this tournament.
