Career Highlights

Geena Davis started her career as a model and gave auditions for different movies including Sarah Connor of “The Terminator” without success, until she was cast in the movie titled “Tootsie” in 1982, directed by Sydney Pollack.

After a successful debut, she earned roles in various movies including “Fletch”, “Beetlejuice” and “The Fly” which helped her make her presence felt. In 1988, her career received a much needed boost, when she appeared in the movie titled in “The Accidental Tourist” and won the Oscar Award for best actress.

In 1991, she appeared in another successful role in the movie “Thelma & Louise” and earned a role in “A League of Their Own”, release in 1992, which earned her Golden Globe nomination and she became one of the successful leading film actresses of the time.
