The 21-year-old Kvitova of the Czech republic displayed highly impressive play in the Wimbledon Women’s Singles final where she defeated the famous female tennis player Maria Sharapova 6-3, 6-4. This was Kvitova’s first career Grand Slam.

Kvitova with her stunning and powerful groundstrokes was able to push Sharapova back. For Maria Sharapova, it was her second appearance in the Wimbledon final after claiming the 2044 Wimbledon title. However, since then, she had a major problem with her serve which haunted her again in the final of Wimbledon 2011 where she serves back-to-back double faults in the sixth game.

Kvitova on the other hand dominated the first set with her powerful serve. The most impressive thing about Kvitova’s game was her returning, both backhand, and forehand. So we have a new female champion of Wimbledon who made her way through mighty names like Serena, Venus, and Wozniacki.

No one thought of famous tennis player Novak Djokovic winning the Wimbledon 2011 by his outstanding and enthralling performance in the men’s Singles final. Although Djokovic was favorite for his brilliant performance in the recent past where he secured Australian Open 2011 and enjoyed his successful emerging rivalry with Rafael Nadal, still the votes seemed more favorable for the greatest tennis player Roger Federer and Clay King, Rafael Nadal.

Novak Djokovic however played his best tennis in the final of Wimbledon 2011 where he took the first two sets by completely manhandling Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-1. Nadal made a comeback in the 3rd set but was overtaken by Djokovic again in the 4th set hence losing it to Djokovic 6-4, 6-1, 1-6, 6-3.

This was Djokovic’s first Wimbledon title. Djokovic has won 48 of 49 matches this season. And he’s now won five straight over Nadal. It is almost impossible to see Djo slowing down this year as Wimbledon is his 8th tennis title of the year.

He is now the ATP No. 1 ranked player surpassing Rafael Nadal. It seems like Djokovic is going to have a long successful career as he has won 3 Grand Slam titles of the year 2011 and won the Australian Open 2012 as well.

He surely is the best. No joke
