Famous and revolutionary poet of Pakistan:Faiz Ahmed Faiz
Fatima Bhutto, a woman who could have easily entered mainstream politics in Pakistan due to her family associations yet chose to channel her talents into journalism. Currently a writer, columnist and an activist but has no links with any political parties. Daughter of Mir Murtaza Bhutto and twice Prime minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto’s niece, Fatima Bhutto was born in Afghanistan on 29th May, 1982. At the age of three her parents separated and she moved from country to country with her father. Her father eventually re-married Ghinwa Bhutto, and it is her to whom Fatima credits her upbringing. After completing her secondary education, she went abroad to Manhattan’s Barnard College and then to the SAOS at the University of London for her degrees in Middle Eastern Languages and South Asian studies respectively.

Sailkot a city in the provinceof Punjab Pakistan enjoys the honor of being the hometown of two of the greatest poets of the Urdu language; Allama Iqbal and Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Famous poet of Pakistan Faiz was born on 13th February, 1911 in an educated family. He received his early education in his hometown and later went to Lahore for further education. From the very beginning he showed an interest in languages and his exceptional talent made people take him seriously from a very early age. He joined the MAO College Aligarh as a lecturer; however his literary activities soon saw him as a member of the Progressive Writers Movement. It is said that during the time he was doing his Masters, he was introduced to and influenced by communist ideas and he became a member of the communist party.

Bano Qudsia is a very famous writer and play writer from Pakistan. She was born on 28th of November, 1928 in British India. She was not only fluent in writing novels and short stories but she was also popular as a play writer. The popular characteristics of Bano Qudsia include her intelligence and spiritualism. She was also an intellectual. She is an Urdu writer but has also written in Punjabi for theater and television.

Amjad Islam Amjad born in Lahore on 4th August, 1944 is a poet and lyricist. He has written more than 40 books. He received his early and secondary education from the Government Islamia College Civil Lines. After obtaining another degree from the University of Punjab in Urdu literature, he started working as a lecturer. Eventually he became the director of PTV. But after a number of years he returned to the post of a lecturer again.

Allama Iqbal was born on 9th November, 1877 in Sialkot. His birth name was Muhammad Iqbal. This was during the time of British India when the nation had not been partitioned. The region of Sialkot now falls in Pakistan. He was a Muslim poet, philosopher, and a politician. He was adept in many languages such as Urdu, Persian and Arabic and became one of the greatest poets of the modern era. He propagated the idea of a separate state for Muslims which was to be the main basis for the creation of Pakistan.
Pakistani Writer and Poet:Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi
Ahmed Faraz is another shining star in the galaxy of famous Urdu poets of Pakistan. He was born as Syed Ahmed Shah Ali on 12th January, 1931 in Kohat a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province of Pakistan. Faraz did his masters in Urdu and Persian language from Peshawar University and was appointed a lecturer in the same place.
Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi, famous Pakistani poet and author, was born in the year 1916 on 20th November. He died in 2006 on the 10th of July. He was born in Anga, Khushab in the subcontinent. ‘Nadeem’ was his pen name. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi graduated from the University of Punjab in 1935. His family was a rather religious family. They were famous as the Peerzada, Qadri family. He played the role of the secretary for the “Progressive Writers Movement” for which he had been arrested several times during the 1950s and 1970s. He was a diamond with multi facets. His work is not only based in the Urdu language but also English. Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi worked in various aspects. He was a wonderful poet, journalist, critic, dramatist and a brilliant short story writer.
