Liverpool 3-3 Milan – Liverpool won 3-2 on penalties (2005 finals)

In the first half, Milan was leading with 3 goals with goals from Hernan Crespo and Maldini. In the second half, it was a six minutes magical spell where Vladimir, Gerrard, and Alonso for Liverpool scored to level with Milan. It was then on the penalty shoot where Jerzy Dudek excelled and Andriy Shevchenko saved two goals stunningly.

Juventus 2-3 Manchester United (1999 semi-final second leg):

This match was all about Roy Keane. His performance was exceptional and its residual effect on teammates was astounding. After the game was leveled by Filippo Inzaghi and Dwight Yorke, the Manchester United side was ahead on away goals but the team kept attacking and Cole’s goal helped the team win this match.

Deportivo 4-0 Milan (2004 quarter-final second leg)

It was probably the one match where Milan seemed very feeble in defense. Goals from Juan Carlos, Walter Pandiani, and Albert Luque brought Depotrive the lead. In the second half, Gonzalez Fran scored the fourth goal by sweeping away Rossaneri’s defense.

Chelsea 4-2 Barcelona (2004- 16 second leg)

Frank Lampard, Eidur Gudjohnsen, and Damien Duff within twenty minutes scored 3 goals however by half-time Ronaldinho struck once from the 20-yard belters and once from the penalty spot. It was Petr Cech who saved the other three could-have-been-goals from Andres Iniesta, Juliano Belletti, and Carlos Puyol.

Chelsea 4-4 Liverpool (2009 second leg of the quarter-final)

In this match, thrills and spills were expected and the match went on for 180 minutes. Petr Cech of Chelsea football club forgot how to get hold of goal but it was the brilliance of Didier Drogba who was at this unplayable best. Also, Frank Lampard eventually excelled in a match that flowed and ebbed so much as to make even the seasonal fan nauseous.

Valencia 5-2 Lazio (2000- quarter-final first leg)

The main difference between the two sides was a hat-trick from Gerard Lopez. Gerard’s first goal came in when his teammate Miguel Angel Angulo opened the score for Valencia. It was Inzaghi who scored before Gerard scored twice. For the Italian side, Marcelo Salas gave some hope to the team however it was Lopez who had already done enough damage for the Italian side.
