John Terry was born on the 7th December 1980 and currently plays for Chelsea Football Club and the English national football side.
Recognized as one of the best defenders in football, Terry has achieved many awards recognizing this fact. These include the best defender in UEFA Champions League in 2005 and 2008 and by earning a place in the 2006 FIFA World Cup all-star squad.
During his career Terry has made 284 league appearances for Chelsea, scoring 18 goals, and 58 appearances for England, scoring six goals. However, it is not his ability to score goals for which he is considered a fearsome opponent, but he can prevent goals from being scored by the opposition.
Amongst many awards and honors, Terry has won the English Premier League twice and the FA Cup three times. He has also earned a place in the UEFA Team of the Year on three occasions.
England had possibly one of their best opportunities to win the FIFA World Cup which was held in South Africa in 2010 and a very important player in the English dreams of lifting the trophy is John Terry.
