Wimbledon glory was under the flags of the USA in another era by Billie Jean King and Chris Evert-Lloyd. Both were highlighted in the WTA tennis player ranking for several years.

They met some resistance from the former world No. 1 in the tennis player ranking Evonne Goolagong-Cawley, who appeared in the finals of the Wimbledon in that era 4 times, but overall it was all USA in that era.

After trying for a couple of years, Chris finally won the Wimbledon title in 1974 after defeating the Russian Olga Morozova 6-0, 6-4 and got her name in the Venus Rosewater trophy.

The following night, Chris Evert danced at the ball with her fiancé, Jimmy Connors who also won the Gentlemen’s singles title after defeating Ken Rosewall. The media called it a Love Match.
