Kathleen Doyle Bates, popularly known as Kathy Bates, is a renowned film director and actress of United States of America.

Born on 28th June, 1948 in Tennessee, she is known for her roles in movies like “Misery”, “Fried Green Tomatoes”, “Dolores Claiborne”, “Titanic” and “About Schmidt”.

Career Highlights

Kathy Bates started her career in 1971, appearing in the role of Bobo Bates in the movie titled “Taking Off”. In 1978, she appeared in “Straight Time” followed by a role in 1983 movie titled “Two of a Kind”.

Her first breakthrough performance came in 1990, in the movie titled “Misery”, which earned her critical acclaim and brought her into the limelight.
