Kristen Jaymes Stewart, of The Twilight Saga fame, was born on 9th April, 1990 in California, U.S. She belongs to a family, which is known to have worked behind the camera, so her interest in movies doesn’t come as a surprise at all.

Career Highlights

Stewart started her acting career, when she was just eight years old in “The Thirteenth Year”, followed by some minor roles in “The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas” and “The Safety of Objects”, until being offered a major role in “Panic Room” playing the daughter of the veteran actress Jodie Foster.

“Panic Room” earned Kristen Stewart, her first Young Artist Award nomination; the movie also received critical success. Having caught the attention of movie makers with her performance in “Panic Room” she landed another major role in “Cold Creek Manor” co-starring Sharon Stone, and once again nominated for Young Artist Award.

She played her first lead role in “Catch That Kid” followed by “Speak” released in 2004, for which she earned critical acclaim .In 2005, she got a role in “Zathura”, “Fierce People”, and a lead role in “The Messengers”. Her excellent performance in “Into the Wild” earned her critical admiration, whereas for “In the Land of Women”, she managed mixed reviews.

Her career breakthrough and her claim to worldwide fame proved to be her role in “Twilight”, for which she earned mixed reviews but the movie went on to become a box office hit and she received MTV Movie Award in the category for Best Actress, Teen Choice Award, People’s Choice Award as well as a BAFTA Rising Star award.

She also appeared in the “The Twilight Saga: New Moon”, as well as “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and received excellent reviews for both movies.
