John William Ferrell popularly known as Will Ferrell is an American writer, comedian and actor. Born on 16th July, 1967 in California, United States of America. Will Ferrell started his acting career as a stand-up comedian and with the passage of time he was regarded as one of the best comedians along with Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Vince Vaughn.

He has appeared in a number of comedy roles in various TV shows and movies including “Saturday Night Live”, “Old School”, “Stranger than Fiction”, “The Other Guys” and “Elf”.

Early Career

As stand-up comedian, Will Ferrell’s career was not going anywhere so he focused on TV shows and appeared in “Saturday Night Live” in 1995 and remained amongst the cast up to 2001. Following the successful stunt at TV, Will Ferrell earned a number of significant roles in movies including “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”, “The Ladies Man”, “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me” and “Zoolander”.

He also appeared in Old School for which he earned MTV Movie Awards nomination in the category for Best Comedic Performance, film critics credited the success of “Old School” to the performance of Will Ferrell.

Career Highlights

Will Ferrell earned his first ever award for his outstanding performance in “Old School”. He was nominated for Emmy Award in 2001 for “Saturday Night Live” and earned a Golden Globe nomination in the category for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. He earned another Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actor for the movie titled “The Producers”.
