Tamim Iqbal is Bangladesh cricket team’s explosive left handed batsman. Tamim has played 207 ODI matches so far and has scored 7202 runs at an average of 36.74. Tamim Iqbal Khan is known for his batting skills as he is technically sound.

He has scored 13 centuries and 47 fifties so far in his ODI career. He holds a unique record of playing 3 of the top 4 individual best batting performances from Bangladeshi batsmen. Tamim’s highest score in an innings so far is 158.

Tamim Iqbal played his first match for Bangladesh cricket team in 2007 against Zimbabwe. In 2010, his form was excellent and Tamim scored at a strike rate of above 96 and an average of just around 34. Being a top order batsman he serves as an anchor and his good running between the wickets makes him an asset when it comes to building partnerships in ODIs.

Tamim is the only second Bangladeshi cricket player to have been included Wisden Cricketer of the Year. He has all the qualities that are needed in a batsman. Bangladeshi team has been very tough on its opponents which is why it is always a joy to watch their batsmen entertaining the cricket enthusiast.

Tamim has played 60 test matches where he has scored 4405 runs in test cricket so far. His score of 4405 runs include 9 hundreds and 27 fifties. Although in the current batting line up of Bangladesh Cricket there are many great Batsmen, Tamim Iqbal still holds a very important place as a brilliant opener. He is the current captain of Bangladesh’s One Day International Team.
