Tennis Tournaments: Brisbane International Championships

Brisbane International Championship is associated with the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). The championship center is in Australia and has a hard court. The tournament is held just before the Australian Open each year.

The tournament started back in the 1970s when the Grand Prix Tennis circuit thought of introducing tennis in Queensland. The tournament was originally to start a South West Pacific Season. The tournament started hosting professional matches in 1972 on an outdoor grass court. However, the tournament moved to a hard court later. In 2011, several international brands sponsored the tournament. These include Ticketek, Seven Network, Wilson, Nestle, Heineken, Sirromet Wines, Virgin Blue, Panasonic, and Powerade among many others. The prize money in 2011 was increased from $93,000 to $125,000.

Tennis Tournaments: Regions Morgan Keegan Championships 

The Regions Morgan Keegan Championship is held in Memphis, USA each year. The tournament has become men’s ATP tour but it was a part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1976 to 1989. The tournament was previously known as St. Jude Championship, US Indoor Championship, and Volvo Championship.

The tournament has several sponsors but Regions Financial is the only major sponsor. Major outside sponsors include CA Media, Coca Cola, Cellular South, Clos Du Bios, and Scnukcs. On the other hand, the tournament supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as a supporting charity. The tournament has prize money of $757,000 and a draw of 32S, 16D, and 16Q. The tournament is held in Memphis each year.

Tennis Tournaments: Dubai Duty-Free Championships 

Dubai Tennis Championship, also known as Barclays Dubai Championship and Dubai Duty-Free Championship is organized by Dubai Duty-Free and Barclays. The tournament is played on an outdoor hard court, arranging both male and female tournaments. The biggest supporter of the tournament is Rashid Al-Maktoum, who is also vice-president of the tournament committee.

The tournament is held at Aviation Club Tennis Centre and only high officials, VIPs, and players are allowed inside the club. The tournament has prize money of $2,000,000 and has drawn 56M, 32Q, and 16D. Men’s tournament falls under 500 series whereas women’s tournament falls under the premier category.
