Naomi Ellen Watts is a British actress known for her ravishing looks as well as versatile acting talent. She was born on 28th September, 1968 in Kent, England and began her acting career in Australia, appearing on Australian TV before getting her break in mainstream movies.
Naomi Watts started her acting career from Television in 1986, appearing in a number of TV plays including the “For Love Alone” and the Oscar nominated drama “21 Grams”. In 1991, she appeared in a supporting role in movie titled “Flirting”, which earned him roles in “Brides of Christ” and “Wide Surgasso Sea”.
In 1990s, she appeared in a number of movies including “Home and Away”, “Matinee”, “Tank Girl”, “Bermuda Triangle”, “Dangerous Beauty”, “Sleepwalkers” and “The Hunt for the Unicorn Killer”, which helped her career move along successfully.
In 2000s, she get back to back successful roles in movies including “The Ring” in 2002, “21 Grams” in 2003, “King Kong” in 2005 and “Eastern Promises” in 2007 making her one of the most successful female actresses of the time.
She couldn’t get a worthwhile success in her career until 2001, when she appeared in a blockbuster movie titled “Mulholland Drive”, which won several awards including Chicago Film Critics Association, National Society of Film Critics Award and Online Film Critics Society Award, all in the category for the Best Actress.
In 2003, she earned her maiden Academy Award nomination for her performance in “21 Grams”, for which she also won nominations for Screen Actors Guild Awards as well as BAFTA Award in the category for best actress in a leading role. In 2005, she appeared in the remake of “King Kong”, for which she won Saturn award for best actress.
