Tia Carrere was born as Althea Rae Janairo on 2nd January, 1967 in Hawaii, United States of America.

She is popular American actress, singer and former model, known for her roles on movies like “Wayne’s World”, “Lilo & Stitch” and “Relic Hunter”. She obtained her first big break as a regular on the day time soap opera “General Hospital”.

Career Highlights
Tia Carrere started her career in 1985, appearing in the TV play titled “Airwolf” after gaining popularity as a model. A year later she appeared in the movie “Zombie Nightmare” followed by a role in “Noble House” in 1988 and “The Fatal Mission” in 1990.

Her first breakthrough role came in 1991 in the movie titled “Harley Davidson” and the “Marlboro Man” and then in another action film titled “Showdown in Little Tokyo”. She gained further popularity with her role in “Wayne’s World” in 1992.


In 1994, she appeared in the action thriller movie “True Lies” co-starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, followed by a role in another successful movie “Rising Sun” co-starring Sean Connery.

She gained critical acclaim with her roles in “The Immortals” in 1994 and “High School High” in 1996. Tia Carrere has appeared in several commercial hit movies in her career, starting from “Harley Davidson” and “The Marlboro Man” to “Wayne’s World” and from “Rising Sun” to “True Lies”.

She received Saturn Award nomination for best supporting actress for her role in “True Lies” followed by MTV Movie Award nomination for the movie “Wayne’s World”, in addition to many music awards.
